Pluggerzz Privacy Policy

1) Who we are (Data Controller)

Pluggerzz is a digital marketplace connecting customers looking for services (“Customers” or “Users”) with independent service providers (“Pluggers” / “Taskers”).

For most processing described in this policy, Pluggerzz is the data controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2) Personal data we collect

We collect data in three ways: (a) you provide it, (b) it’s generated through your use of the Platform, and (c) we receive it from third parties.

A) Data you provide

• Account & profile: name, email, phone number, password (stored securely), profile photo, bio, services/categories, skills, availability, service area, business details (if applicable).
• Bookings & communications: job requests, job descriptions, photos/videos you upload, preferred timing, quotes/offers, booking details, cancellations, refunds, disputes, messages via the Platform, and customer support queries.
• Verification (mainly for Pluggers): identity verification data (e.g., ID/proof of address), certifications/licences/insurance (where relevant), and verification outcomes from providers (where used).
• Payments: transaction records, payout/refund records, receipts/invoices (where applicable). We do not store full card details.

B) Data collected automatically

• IP address, device identifiers, app version, browser type, operating system.
• Usage data (pages/screens viewed, actions taken, timestamps, referring URLs).
• Approximate location (from IP) and diagnostic/crash data to improve stability.

C) Data from third parties

• Payment providers (confirmation, chargebacks, fraud signals).
• Identity/verification providers (verification outcomes and supporting data where necessary).
• Analytics and marketing partners (where permitted/consented).
• App stores (limited data such as install source; subscription status if applicable).

3) App permissions & features

If you enable optional permissions in the Pluggerzz app, we may process:

• Location (matching, availability, and service fulfilment).
• Camera/photos (upload job photos or profile images).
• Notifications (booking updates, messages, service alerts).

You can change permissions at any time using your device settings.

4) How we use your data (purposes + lawful bases)

We process personal data only when we have a lawful basis under UK GDPR:

• Provide the Platform & marketplace services (accounts, posting, quoting, booking, messaging). Basis: Contract + Legitimate Interests.
• Payments, payouts & accounting. Basis: Contract + Legal Obligation.
• Trust, safety & fraud prevention (verification, misuse prevention, security). Basis: Legitimate Interests + sometimes Legal Obligation.
• Customer support & dispute handling. Basis: Contract + Legitimate Interests.
• Improve and maintain the Platform (analytics, debugging, performance). Basis: Legitimate Interests.
• Marketing (where required). Basis: Consent (and you can opt out anytime).

5) How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data.

• Between Customers and Pluggers: job details (including photos you upload and general location area), Plugger profile details (services, ratings/reviews, availability), and messages to the intended recipient.
• Service providers (processors): hosting, payments, verification, analytics, communications (email/SMS/push), customer support tools—under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
• Legal and safety: where required to comply with law or to protect users, the Platform, and the public (e.g., fraud investigations, security incidents).
• Business changes: merger/acquisition/reorganisation/sale of assets, with safeguards and notices where required.

6) International transfers

If personal data is processed outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy decisions and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) / UK Addendum. You can request details by emailing info@pluggerzz.co.uk.

7) Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and secure development practices. No system is 100% secure, so please use strong passwords and keep your credentials confidential.

8) Data retention

• Account/profile: while your account is active; deleted/anonymised on request where possible.
• Transactions/accounting: typically 6 years (UK tax/accounting).
• Support/disputes: typically up to 2 years after closure (longer if needed for legal claims).
• Security logs: retained for limited periods for safety and fraud prevention.

We may retain limited data after deletion where legally required or for fraud/security/claims.

9) Your rights (UK GDPR)

You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object, data portability, and withdraw consent (where applicable).

10) Special category data and criminal records

We do not ask for special category data (e.g., health, religion, ethnicity). Please do not include it in job descriptions or messages. If provided, we handle it carefully and only where necessary.

Where background checks or criminal record-related processing is used (if ever), we do so only where lawful, proportionate, and with appropriate safeguards.

11) Automated decision-making

We may use automated systems to support matching, ranking, fraud detection, and Platform safety. We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means without appropriate safeguards.

12) Children

The Platform is not intended for children. Users must be 18+.

13) Third-party links

The Platform may link to third-party services. Their privacy practices are their responsibility—please review their policies before sharing data.

14) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform and/or email where appropriate. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
